Hi! Thanks for stopping by! You’ve taken the hardest step- starting the process of looking for a therapist is the most daunting part. While you don’t know me, let me give you some advice. You have to be able to form a relationship with your therapist and eventually be able to open up to them, so schedule some consultations and see how you feel when you’re talking to them.
And now a little about me. I have been practicing psychotherapy for 10+ years and have worked in a variety of social work settings from a detention center to an all girl’s high school, all before settling into private practice. I’m a mother of a college student, a caretaker for my father, and I had many careers before private practice: I’ve been a small business owner, a sexual health educator, a farmer and preschool teacher, to name a few I believe that my experiences have contributed to a wide understanding of people, culture and the human capacity for change.
I feel honored to work alongside people who are seeking change, wanting to better understand themselves, and hoping to create healthier, more fulfilling patterns in their lives. I strive to offer a supportive, compassionate space where adolescents and adults can feel heard, understood, and cared for as they navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles, grief and loss, menopause, or the everyday stress and transitions that life can bring.
None of us are broken. We are all whole people who have developed patterns, beliefs, and protective strategies over time- some helpful, some no longer serving us, and some that need some small adjustments.
If you’re interested in exploring your core beliefs, increasing self awareness, changing how you respond to feelings to serve you better or creating space for growth, I would love to support you in that process.
Since no approach is best for everyone, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and solutions focused therapy. Together we will use a variety of tools to learn new skills and work towards becoming a happier, healthier you.
